Peggy Carl

Peggy Carl is a seasoned administrator and coach with over 30 years of experience. Carl’s experience spans both Division II and Division III and includes vast experience both in athletic administration and coaching. As an administrator, her stops have included Beloit College (WI), Salem State University (MA), Earlham College (IN), the North Coast Athletic Conference office, and currently Mansfield University of PA.
In each of those positions, programs grew and demonstrated steady improvement. She guided numerous renovation projects. She was active in budget development and revenue generation. She managed Title IX assessments and professional development for staff. Elevating the student experience and inclusivity were greatly advanced.
As a coach, Carl was the head men’s and women’s swimming coach at Occidental College for 18 years. Her swimmers and divers earned numerous All-Conference and All-America honors, including an NCAA Champion in 2007.
Well-known nationally, Carl has served on numerous NCAA committees, presented at a variety of conferences and conventions and helped to organize and facilitate many conference and national championships as championships coordinator. Carl served as a logistics coordinator at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. She managed a large staff and interfaced directly with USA Swimming personnel and President Clinton’s Secret Service detail. Following her success in Atlanta, Ms. Carl was selected as the Field of Play Manager for the 2008 Olympic Swimming Team Trials in Long Beach, Calif. In that capacity she provided oversight and management for every aspect of daily operations.
Carl has a B.A. in physical education from Whittier College, an M.A. in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
